Google Creates Fiber-Optic Madness Worldwide

On April 14th, SEO-Specialist-Online informed you of Google’s plans to provide the first ever gigabyte broadband network across the United States. Currently Google has been seeking partners to conduct beta tests of their fiber optic network within their respective community. This announcement has caused quite a stir across the United States. Several applicants have gone through great lengths to secure their spot as a partner in the fiber optic project.

Recently Topeka Kansas became the most notable candidate to apply to be selected as a partner within the project. On March 2nd, CNN reported that the mayor of Topeka announced that the name of his city will be changed to “Google” as a request for consideration to be a part the Google project. On April 1st, Google responded in kind by Changing the Company name to “Topeka” as a friendly April fool’s joke.

Despite the popularity that Topeka received from their effort to become a part of the project, there are many other applicants that deserve consideration for their efforts. In the video below, CBS News issued a report on the progress on the selection of applicants for the project. Google fever runs deep within the United States. So who are going to be the winners and losers of the promotion? Whoever the winner or loser is, Google definitely comes out the winner in this deal!

Twitter Makes Congressional History – Your Tweets Remembered

As a leader and innovator of technology in both the public and private sectors I am personally amazed at how far we have come with the advances in technology. With the concept of social networking on the rise, it is now much easier to share information among your friends, family, and followers. This really became evident when Twitter burst onto the scene and become a huge success. Twitter made history when it first arrived on the scene with its innovative messaging technology concept which grew in popularity. Twitter has made history yet again recently, this time, congressional history!

Last week various news networks reported that the tweets that you create on Twitter are now being archived in the Library of Congress. Tweets that are made from profiles on Twitter that are set to “public” status will now be archived. Despite this historical announcement, freedom of speech on Twitter has now come at a cost, that cost is “your privacy.”

Archival of tweets from twitter public profiles has some privacy experts and organizations concerned. Within the world of computing where information is delivered within a fast-paced environment in real-time, someone can see your tweets immediately after they are posted. I have seen people lose their jobs and tarnish their careers over what they posted on their Internet social network profiles.

Everyone knows Google is a popular search engine these days. Since the emergence of the search engine in 1998, Google has won the hearts of Internet consumers worldwide thru the capability to offer “extremely relevant” search results in many different languages. As the Internet changed over time, Google evolved with it. It goes without saying that Google has constantly raised the bar with the new products they have created as well as the ability to change the way consumers operate on the Internet today.

As the first quarter of 2010 draws to a close and we live in the age of social networking, Google continually develops new products that offer a competitive edge as well as a redefined user experience. Today, I belive Google has done the unthinkable!
