The Wooden Bowl

SEO Consultant | The Wooden Bowl | SEO Specialist Online | SEO ChatterAs a Senior SEO Strategist with SEO Specialist Online I receive hundreds of emails a day. It’s Not often that one catches my eye like this one did. You see at closer to 64 years old then I like to admit, when I read the Wooden Bowl, I realized that children are remarkably perceptive.

Their eyes ever observe, their ears ever listen, and their minds ever process the messages they absorb.

If they see us patiently, provide a happy home atmosphere for family members and friends, be honest and imaginative and polite to our clients, they will imitate that attitude for the rest of their lives. The wise person realizes that every day the building blocks are being laid for the child’s future. Let us be wise builders and role models.

As time passes from today, I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now, Enjoy!

The Wooden Bowl

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year-old grandson. The old man’s hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered

The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather’s shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. ‘We must do something about father,’ said the son. I’ve had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.’

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.

When the family glanced in Grandfather’s direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, ‘What are you making?’ Just as sweetly, the boy responded, “Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.”

The four-year-old smiled and went back to work..

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather’s hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

On a positive note,

I’ve learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

I’ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things: a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

I’ve learned that making a ‘living’ is not the same thing as making a ‘life..’

I’ve learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back sometimes.

I’ve learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.

I’ve learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.

I’ve learned that even when I have pains, I don’t have to be one.

I’ve learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.

People love that human touch — holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.

I’ve learned that I still have a lot to learn.

I’ve learned that you should pass this on to everyone you care about .I just did.

I am not going to be the one who lets it die. I found it believable — angels have walked beside me all my life–and they still do

May God Bless You,

Search Engine Optimization Today

Search Engine Optimization Today

Today Google Real-Time Search Changes Everything. Not being where your customer is looking could be costing you their business! Search engines are tightening up the loopholes to manipulate positioning.

So-called “doorway” pages, tricks with meta tag/keyword files, etc. no longer are effective. Keyword positioning, along with indexing, is the way to be seen on today’s Internet.

• The vast majority of clicks occur within the top 5 positions on a search page.

• As a rule, the more competitive the business category, the harder it is to attain decent placement. Conversely, the more competitive the business category, the more important placement is to success of the business.

Entrepreneurs and small businesses constantly find themselves looking around asking themselves why they can’t quite seem to find a good fit for what they need from service providers.

People do business with who they like, who they trust and who truly care about their business. In fact, a recent study by US News & World Report revealed that when clients leave their current provider it’s not because of a pricing or product problem, but a “people” problem. People that no longer value their business, or seem indifferent to it. A whopping 68% of them.

• A fractional 14% defected because of a pricing issue followed by 9% who were successfully wooed by a competitor.

• With Google Real-Time Search the playing field has been leveled.

• No longer can you or your competition sit back and think they own their TOP organic Google positions!

Build a Blog Without Blowing the Business

Many small business owners are out there thinking “Blogging? That’s just one more thing to add to my already over-booked work schedule. No thanks.” I understand your thinking.

There is no doubt that sitting down to write a good blog post takes time. Add in artificial deadlines and blog posting schedules, that’s why most small businesses simply don’t do it.

But blogging is an important aspect of growing your business. The key to good blogging is understanding how to work it in, prioritize it properly, and not to feel obligated to anybody but your family and customers.

Entrepreneurs and small businesses constantly find themselves looking around asking themselves why they can’t quite seem to find a good fit for what they need from service providers.

The best part of my job is I get to work with people that aren’t only very good at what they do, but are also GREAT people who all share a sincere desire to help others. Bottom line is, and we all know it – expertise only pays the entry fee.

No longer can your competition sit back and think they own their TOP organic Google positions!

I was interviewing a new IT company the other day because our business is growing so fast and we are considering outsourcing some of our business and they asked me the following:

What is the relationship between Halley’s comet and SEO business case analysis?

Every 76 years, Halley’s comet takes an elliptical path around the sun just past the outer circular orbit of Neptune. Predictable, no change and the comet can be seen with the naked eye by people on earth within an average lifetime. You can set your clock with the event.

The SEO business case is a snapshot in time, stagnant, made up of an understanding of current operations, a number of assumptions, what a provider could provide in the way of current market rates, or even better, RFP responses. Again, it is predictable and has no change and visual transparency with consistency of timeframe.

Why compare the two?

Because that is where the similarities end. While Halley’s Comet repeats itself every 76 years, the business case is made up of addressable spend and it constantly changes based on company requirements, cyclical nature of the business and technology changes.

You need to keep pace with the times! The Search Engine algorithms are like a roller coaster.

Blogging can be very important to the success of your business. There is a lot of value and potential growth you can get from it.
